Understanding my biases

Perso avec ombre
Do you feel that your thoughts are contributing to you feeling unwell? It's probably because they give you a biased view of yourself and your life. This tool will help you to identify the biases in your thinking that are causing you to experience negative emotions, to gain some distance and to see things differently.

What are cognitive distorsions?

The world in which you're living is filled with information. Our brains take in this information and simplify it so that we understand our environment.

Cognitive distortions are ways of processing information that will lead to errors in thinking, transform reality, and cause emotional reactions that are often negative.

Don't worry, we all do this and it is completely normal.

Learning to recognise the mechanisms that transform information and influence your thoughts and emotions can help you identify what is malfunctioning in your thoughts and distorting your point of view. This can help you to modify your emotional reactions: by having more pleasant emotions or less strong negative emotions.
